Inspired by the Pros

Today, the international professional Goalkeeper Bertrand Laquait gave a conference at the International Center of European Football. He inspired ICEF residents by explaining his personal experience as a professional soccer player. He discussed his development in a professional soccer academy, his challenges and opportunities as well as his difficulties while he was playing professionally at the top level in France, Belgium and Spain.

About Bertrand Laquait

Born in Vichy, Bertrand Laquait started his professional career with AS Nancy in Ligue 2, and during his first year, was called up to Ligue 1. In the summer of 2002, Laquait joined R.Charleroi SC in Belgium and the following year, 2003, he was nominated for the Belgian Goalkeeper of the Year award.

Laquait spent 2006-2007 on loan to ‘Recreativo de Huelva’ in Spain, making his debut in “La Liga Espanola” in October of 2006, in a game against Atlético Madrid (45 minutes played).
Recently, Laquait signed with Thonon Evian Grand Geneve FC and we are proud to have him conveying his passion to the new generation of international professional soccer players.
