The Benefits of Position-Specific Programs

Today, one of the goalkeeper residents at the International Center of European Football is taking part in a very elite training session amongst the Academy’s pro team: Thonon-Evian Grand Genève Football FC.

18-year-old-brazilian player Joao, warmed up with the three goalkeepers of the first team, under the supervision of the GK coach. He alternated between a specific, in-depth training and a kicking training with the players led by the team’s Head Coach. His ICEF Head Coach Julien Bernard was also present during this training, to assess the progress of his goalkeeper.

Congratulations to Joao who became the very first ICEF player to train with the club’s pro team thanks to his determination and hard work since he started the Pro Residency Program.

A perfect example of a successful transition from U.S. competition to life in a soccer academy in Europe.
