The ICEF is the only academy to combine all encompassing training with top level competition

The 2022-2023 season has offered high-level preparation and competitive matchs to the ICEF players and staff. In April 2022, they encountered their most prestigious and challenging opposition of the season: Participation in the 2022 Mediterranean International Cup (MIC) and 3 matches at the Camp des Loges, the official training center of Paris Saint-Germain!

These unique exposure opportunities offered chances for their players to showcase their skills at the highest level and add to the list of top teams they’ve played against this season.

On top of it all, the ICEF undoubtedly made an impact in April.

Participation in one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world

The MIC has been the stage for promising players to showcase their skills, and this year was no different. Past players to have played in the MIC include Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr., Ansu Fati and Pedri.

Invitation to the MIC is reserved to top level teams, as the tournament seeks to invite the most promising players from the world to compete in official matches. Teams such as Manchester United, Valencia, Barcelona, Villareal, were just a few of the elite level participants this year.

The ICEF competed in the U20 category and carried positive momentum into their group matches to secure a 1st place. By applying the European methodology of football, they were rewarded with success, as they made an impact on the same stage as some of today’s professional superstars.

Celebrations after each of the victories show how much the team committed to the intensive training sessions throughout the past months. Through consistent work and adhering to the routines of a professional player, the team was able to go further in the tournament and experience victories against top opponents.

Traveling to the Camp des Loges to play Paris Saint-Germain in Paris

It was a unique opportunity and privilege for the ICEF players to play 3 matches in 3 different age categories against the Paris Saint-Germain professional academy. The journey from Evian to Paris clearly did not prevent the team from rising to the occasion, as the players showed they were physically and mentally prepared to face the professional academy of the French Ligue 1 champions.

The U15 category won their match 4-2 by playing an excellent brand of soccer, scoring 2 goals from corner kicks and 2 goals from open play. All the play leading to the goals were worked on in practice sessions, as was the defensive solidity to contain the Paris Saint-Germain offense.

In their following matches, the ICEF came back from deficits and showed incredible character. In addition to the technical, tactical, and physical training aspects, the multi-disciplinary coaching staff places strong emphasis on mental strength.

In front of dozens of parents who came to watch the match in Paris as well as coaching staff of Paris Saint-Germain, the ICEF players took full advantage of their opportunity to showcase their level.

The ICEF offers a unique competitive schedule, with high-level matches against the biggest names football. With an all-encompassing training program, UEFA certified coaching staff, and state-of-the-art facilities, the ICEF aligns the ideal conditions for talented players to compete with the best in the world
