After spending 10 months training at The International Center of European Football Europe in Evian, France, player Pedro Adarillo joined FC Miami City, competing in the United Soccer League (USL) in Miami, Florida (USA). The USL is one of the most successful soccer leagues in the world and offers many development opportunities for its players. Over 70% of players in Major League Soccer are drafted with USL experience.

Pedro’s experience at the ICEF Europe

Pedro Adarillo spoke highly of his time at The ICEF Europe and how it helped him develop, especially highlighting the training structure. 


At The ICEF Europe, we train every day during the week, and we have games on the weekends, so I think this was what helped me develop the most on the field. All the coaches are certified with UEFA licenses, and the training environment is very professional. We have a full team of experts that help us prepare through physical therapy, yoga, nutrition, mental development, and more.

Pedro Adarillo explained about why he feels prepared to play football at the next level. In discussing how he improved as a player during his time at The ICEF Europe, Pedro Adarillo shared,


I improved both physically and mentally because I was able to play with Thonon Evian Grand Genève FC, which is The ICEF Europe’s professional team, and also with my friends at the ICEF Europe.

Reflecting on his time at the ICEF Europe

Looking back on his experience at The ICEF Europe, Pedro Adarillo said,


I recommend it there because we have a lot of opportunities to play with other teams, and it’s a really good academy with good coaches and instructors. I am now playing in one of the best championships in the U.S. because of the connections I gained.

Through this opportunity, Pedro Adarillo hopes to earn the exposure to achieve his dreams of attending college in the United States.

Now I am here playing for FC Miami City, and I think it is the best opportunity that I can have. My next step is going to a good college, getting my degree, and continuing to play so one day I can sign a pro contract.

Q. Introduce yourself.

A. Hello, my name is Pedro, I’m 17 years old, I’m from Brazil, and I’m playing in America​

Q. Where did you play this season?

Q. What is the International Center of European Football?

A. The International Center of European Football is a professional residency where we can train and study for 3 months or 10 months. We play in a professional environment, and you can develop a lot there. All the coaches are certified with UEFA licenses so it’s really different from what I have experienced before. We have a full team of experts that help us prepare through physical therapy, yoga, nutrition, mental development, and more. You can get to another level there.

Q. How did you improve as a player during your time at the International Center of European Football?

A. I improved as a player both mentally and technically because I was able to train with my teammates and with Thonon Evian Grand Genève FC. Being part of the trainings and the residency was really good for my development. I developed both on the field and off the field because I could be a better person and also a better player.

Q. How has the International Center of European Football impacted your future playing career?

A.The support I received there was really good. The coaches and teachers helped us prepare for the future. I made a lot of connections so that’s why I’m playing for FC Miami City in one of the most competitive leagues in North America now. Playing at The ICEF Europe is a big step in my career and being part of the Strive Football Group and all the connections that we have helped me get to a new level.

Q. How do you feel about your new opportunity with FC Miami City?

A. This new opportunity for me is really good because I will be able to play in one of the best championships in the US which is a dream come true. Training with the older and stronger guys in a very competitive league helped me gain a lot of experience and also develop my technical abilities.

Q. Why do you feel going to college to get an education while playing soccer is important?

A. I think getting a degree nowadays is something really important for the future because after my career in football, I want to work in something related to that, so getting a degree will get me into some really good jobs.

Q. What are your future goals?

A. Getting a diploma, signing a pro contract, and having a good life.
